For 42 days, the Government has been shut down, citizens went from getting no SNAP to having it cut in half, and prices are continuing to rise. All of this has led to greater struggle for the working class and impoverished people across the US. Seeing communities across the states come together to help one another has been wonderful. As members of the Communist Party of the United States, we are happy to show up for those in need. Comrades right here in Louisville have organized to help others acquire necessities and have opened an opportunity for those who want to help.

We have provided you with two forms. One is for you to request donations. Party members and others in our community will come together to assist you to the best of our ability. The other is for people to donate and to volunteer to drop off donations. Karl Marx is quoted as saying in Critique of the Gotha Programme, “for each according to his ability, for each according to his needs,” show up where and when you can for your community. We are happy to extend this opportunity to those willing to help and offer our help where we can.

We are horrified and angered by the murder of Katelyn Hall who was shot by Louisville Metro Police Officers while suffering a mental health crisis. When her family called 911 for a medical emergency they did not call for their daughter to be executed. Katelyn needed compassion, instead she got armed officers trained to treat every member of the public as a threat. LMPD immediately decided this call "did not meet the criteria for deflection or a mobile crisis response" demonstrates the terrible On March 21st, the Nuestra América brigade is going on a mission to deliver aid to the Cuban people and to fight back against the aggressive and internationally-deplored U.S. policies against the island. Our Cuban-American CPUSA comrade, Justine Medina, will be traveling on this convoy with a group of other Cuban-American activists in CAFC (Cuban Americans for Cuba). Today, we remember Angelo Herndon, a member of the Communist Party and organizer for the CPUSA Unemployment Council. He was a leader who demanded unemployment relief, breaking barriers in Georgia. His efforts for the working class didn't go unpunished, and he was charged with Insurrection, tried, and sentenced to 20 years on the chain gang. In the years that followed, Herndon continued his work on behalf of minorities, immigrants, and the working class. Today, the Atlanta Club of the Communist Party is named the Angelo Herndon Club in his honor. Those who write history may not want us to remember the name Angelo Herndon, but as members of the Communist Party of the United States, we must never forget him. The Louisville Club of the Communist Party, CPUSA joins the calls from students, civil rights, faith and labor organizations in Minnesota and across the country in calling for the removal of ICE from our cities. We demand that ICE get out and stay out. We stand against ICE and demand the abolition of the entire agency, which was built on Islamophobia and anti-Arab sentiment following the 9/11 attacks. Since then, the agency has been allowed to prosper and 2025 became ICE’s deadliest year in two decades. People are dying from medical and gross negligence, as well as acts of extreme violence by both on-duty and off-duty ICE officers. Kids are scared to go to school and adults are afraid to go to work. People have been arrested for using their First Amendment rights to speak up against tyranny. Therefore, we demand:  Thank you to all those that contributed to our SNAP Party yesterday. There was delicious hot food, clothes, dry and canned goods, hygiene and medical products. It’s wonderful to see the community come together. We’d love for you to join us, Sunday, November 23, from 3 to 6pm at 236 Woodbine St, Louisville, KY 40208, for a SNAP Party. The longest goverment shutdown in US history, raising food costs, and reduction of snap benefits is causing problems for many in America. Low income families are struggling as goverment workers are missing at least two paychecks during the shutdown. As citizens we may feel helpless but there is always something we can do to help our fellow man.   Comrade Drew wrote and delivered an amazing speech during No Kings Day. We are grateful for every opportunity to connect with more people throughout Louisville.
